8.4 Non-Overlap Exposure and Overlap Exposure
The process that the device captures one frame of image includes two stages, exposure
and readout. According to the overlap relation between the exposure time and the readout
time, devices with different sensors can be divided into overlap exposure and non-overlap
exposure.
8.4.1 Non-Overlap Exposure
After completing the current frame’s exposure and readout, the next frame starts to
expose and read out. This process is called non-overlap exposure. The non-overlap
exposure’s frame period is larger than the sum of the exposure time and the readout time,
as shown below.
