The EFI ES-2000 setup is performed by connecting the EFI ES-2000 to a computer.
To set up the EFI ES-2000
1 Connect the EFI ES-2000 to the computer.
Connect the USB cable of the EFI ES-2000 to a free USB port on your computer, or to a
USB hub that features a separate power supply.
Note: Because of its power requirements, the EFI ES-2000 will not work if it is plugged
into the USB port on your keyboard.
2 Start the application that uses the EFI ES-2000.

Status indicator lights
The EFI ES-2000 is equipped with lights that indicate device status. When the
instrument is used with Fiery software, the lights have the following behavior.

Off
Solid white
Blinking blue
Blinks green twice
Blinks red twice
Status
The EFI ES-2000 is not connected to your computer or the
software is not running.
The EFI ES-2000 is connected but needs an initial calibration
or the instrument calibration failed.
The EFI ES-2000 is ready to take measurements.
The measurement was successful.
A calibration error or measurement error occurred.
Note: If the EFI ES-2000 is used in EFI ES-1000 compatibility mode (as a replacement
for the EFI ES-1000), the lights may not operate.
Measuring color samples
You can measure color samples using two different methods: single-patch
measurement and strip measurement.
EFI ES-2000 calibration
Before starting to measure color samples, you are prompted to place the EFI ES-2000
on the calibration cradle. White point calibration is used to calibrate the
spectrophotometer and ensure consistent measurements.
