3.10 CN10 STO (Safe Torque Off) function
3.10.1 Introduction to STO
The STO function stops the current to the motor immediately. The dual-channel input signals
(SF1 and SF2 signals) stop the servo drive from supplying power to the motor.

Note:
1. STO certification application for the 220V series models is in progress.
2. For this servo drive, the safe state is defined as “the state that power supply to the motor is cut off”. If
an error or danger is diagnosed, take the measure to have the servo drive enter the safe state.
3.10.2 Precautions for using STO function
Read the following safety precautions carefully to ensure system safety.
Only qualified personnel fully understanding the safety standards can design, install, and
operate the system after reading this operation manual.
Use products with safety certifications or machines compliant with safety specifications to
build a safe electrical circuit.
Before installation and wiring, read the operation manuals of all the peripheral devices
carefully.
If the motor is moved by external forces when the STO function is activated, take safety
measures such as using the mechanical brake.
Evaluate the risk of using the machine or the connecting devices.
